Tues 5pm

Today we started looking at a new Rockschool Grade 3 piece. The first one we tackled "Overrated".
We had a look at section A with it's 123,123,12 feel. Watch your placment of the flams in the first two lines making sure to play them on the correct toms.
The groove in section B was fine but take care with the fills at the end of the lines. The tom 3 groove in section C was the last part we looked at. Again just take your time with it and watch where the left hand accents on 2+ and 4 are played. Good work and good luck practicing!
Pete

Practice the intro cymbal rolls and the two grooves seperately first before putting them together. Really work on the groove that starts in bar 20 when the bass drum is added. Great work guys.
Don't forget to keep working on the shuffle groove for Crazy little thing called love as well!!!

Triplet video week 3

Here's week 3's triplet excercise. In this one we still play single stroke 8th note triplets but the right hand is ging to move around the kit every stroke from snare to tom 1 to tom 3. Take your time to master this properly!
Once you can play this try comming up with a four note pattern for your right hand to play or start moving your left hand around the left side of the kit ie alternating from hi-hat to snare. This pattern can create some really interesting sounds!

Triplet ex Week 3
