First up is the 16th note syncopation warm up we looked at. This will get you familiar with placing bass drums and snare drums on 16th notes between the hi-hat.
Underneath there is the full version of the displaced funk groove we have been working upto. Great work this week!

Groove to scar tissue by the red hot chilli peppers, with a few rhythmic variations underneath to try when u get comfortable with the main groove

Also you now have out two bar displaced funk groove to practice for next week.

So today you were all rubbish and forgot your sheets!! Please remember them for next lesson. That said you all did really well improvising a half bar fill. Practice using the four 8th note gap in the second bar to build your own fills.

Today we did 8th notes and 16th notes as singles and doubles. Practice how to count them and remember to keep your hands soft and throw the sticks down to get them to bounce up.
We used these stickings as fill in the 2nd ex voicing it around the drums. Practice for next week please.

So today we went over our technical ex's of singles doubles and paradiddles playing them around the drum kit and to a metronome. You really did well on learning all three from last lesson.
We also looked at a new groove with bass drums on "+3". Practice this for next week please and try using your singles and doubles as a fill at the end of the bar

Today we went over part d of the technical ex's for the debut exam, you guys did really well playing the first two fills to the track. Please practice for next week!

Today's groove was a re-cap from last term. Practice playing it once on it's own first then play it in a repeating loop as many times as you can! Have it as good ad you can to start playing to a song next lesson!

Today's groove, hand to hand 16th notes on the hi-hat and snare. Watch you bass drum pattern and keep the sticking RLRL all the way through. Also listen out for bass lines when listening to music at home!

Also we looked at the tables of time ex with singles and a RLB combination enjoy!
